Kevin A. Richards was born in August 1968 to Patricia M. Richards. He is the great, great, great grandson of Ex-Slave Phillip Johnson. His birth denotes him as one of the first born in the seventh generation of this family. Though he was born in Washington DC, he moved to Los Angeles California when he was ten years old. During his early years he remembers numerous enjoyable trips up to Sugarland Maryland where he would play happily in front of the home built by his great grandfather Lawrence Hebron (Daddy Bub). This was the home in which his mother Patricia had been raised. Kevin joined the United States Navy in 1987. He has served his country in three Persian Gulf tours, and two Anti-Drug deployment cruises to date. He is an Electrical Engineer who currently holds the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
